She Drops To The Floor When Her Disabled Dog Walks For The First Time Again

Sammi, an adorable Springer Spaniel, had surgery to remove a bone growing near his spinal column when he was eight years old. Sadly, the surgery was a failure, and Sammi’s health took a turn for the worse as the bone continued to grow inside of him. He soon became quadriplegic, and doctors informed the family that the lighthearted dog would likely live the rest of his days in full paralysis.

Despite his uncertain future, Sammi’s family wasn’t about to give up. They took him to California Animal Rehabilitation (CARE), where he began an intensive course of physical therapy. After three months, Sammi was able to take his first steps, and soon after, he was walking steadily again.

The moment that Sammi reunited with his owner, Janie, was filled with both shock and joy. Janie dropped to the floor as her beloved pup trotted over to her, wagging his tail and offering up loving nudges and kisses. She then wept with joy as little Sammi showed off his running skills, jogging back and forth between the CARE center staff and Janie’s open arms.

She embraced the staff members and thanked them for their part in bringing her best friend back from the brink of death, and glanced upwards, seeming to offer a quick prayer of thanks for this unbelievable miracle. Since that day, Sammi has been living happily as a normal dog, running, jumping and even swimming. He does it all alongside his loving mom Janie.
