Dogs are some of the most beloved household pets, and one woman has shown just how much she loves her pet chihuahua, Pancho. She built him his very own room, equipped with a bed, bedside lamp, and a few elements of decor.
Since Pancho is such a small pup, his bedroom can fit perfectly under the stairs, an area that other homeowners generally use for storage. He has a special doggy door that he can use to go in and out as he pleases, and a larger door can be opened up whenever his owner needs to go in to clean or rearrange his furniture.
His bedroom pieces include a cushy dog bed sitting a few inches above the ground on top of a gold bed frame, a three-drawer dresser, bowls for water and food, and a piece of art hanging on the wall. The art is very appropriate, as it’s a miniature version of the well-known painting of dogs playing poker.
The bedroom for the dog wasn’t always in the house plans, said Will Rigdon, the nephew of the Pancho’s owner. His aunt was building a new house after retiring from a 30-year career as a teacher, and Rigdon’s two other aunts insisted that she include a room for Pancho.
So far, the dog seems to love his new space. It’s a place to relax after a long day of play. He’s quite the cuddly dog and is friendly to new people who want to give him a pet, but his loyalties are clear – he loves his mom and knows that she loves him.
