Wichita, Kansas – An employee for an abortion clinic in this city of 672,000 people has tried to borrow a page out of the PETA handbook for civil disobedience: dump manure in front of a venue. Only in this case, the worker wasn’t aiming to prevent women from entering the abortion clinic. Instead, she strategically placed the manure in the location devoted to pro-life supporters. The incident occurred back on Thursday, May 8, and when the morning shift arrived to set up shop with tables and materials designed to persuade women from terminating their unborn children, the protesters were greeted by the nose curdling stench of runny cow manure.
Whoever put together the mixture did so for maximum impact. The city’s Haz-mat team was brought in to investigate the matter and they confirmed it was in fact fertilizer.
When they questioned the abortion clinic’s employees, the responsible party stepped forward to admit to dumping the fertilizer, but was adamant that it was done strictly in the name of tending to the plant life. It should be noted that no manure was placed in any other location where there is plant life.
As per the shift coordinate for the Kansas Coalition for Life, the tactic failed to dissuade the protesters from doing what they believe is a mission to rescue human lives. The point was made that had a pro-life protester done the same tactic, it would have resulted in an arrest. For their part, the pro-life protesters have been very patient against the vitriol they often receive.
