A top pathologist in Northern Ireland has stated that Tramadol is claiming more lives than other drug including cocaine and heroin. It is not likely to cause any harm if it is taken as intended, but more often than not this drug is abused by users.
If one takes a higher dosage of tghe drug than intended or mixes it with another intoxicant, then it can be very dangerous. Thirty-three deaths have been linked to Tramadol, one of the them was a 16-year-old girl.
People assume that Tramadol is safe because it is a prescription drug, but this is not the case. Tramadol is often prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain. Even though the only way that you can get this drug is by prescription, many people are turning to the black market to get it. Jack Crane is a professor, and he fears that more people will die unless the labeling is changed.
Jack also wants people to crack down on the black market that is selling this drug illegally. He plans on meeting with the Chief Medical Officer in Ireland in order to discuss this issue.
