PHOTOS: This Tiny House Seems Odd From The Outside, But Once I Stepped Inside? WHOA!

Tiny houses in Japan must be built to fit on small irregular lots. This triangle shaped two story house in Japan is gorgeous and the inside is very spacious. Homes like this peculiarly shaped one in Japan are built based on style rather than longevity.

This is due to the fact that real estate is very expensive and hard to acquire in this small country. With common natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis, style has become much more important than longevity concerning home construction and design in Japan. Homes also depreciate in value very quickly so a common thing that happens is owners will tear down a newer home and place a brand new home on the same piece of property to gain profit.

This small triangular home was designed by the architects at Mizuishi Architects Atelier and the interior space is only 596 square feet. The small space may seem to be too tiny to house three people but upon stepping inside it is amazing how spacious and organized this small home looks and feels.

The lofted area provides a well lit play area for the children and the windows provide a great deal of natural light. The vaulted ceilings make the narrow space seem much more open and the house is very inviting. The ground floor of this tiny house has a bathroom, bedrooms, and a well designed kitchen. The open floor plan allows all the beds to remain out in the open and not closed off from the rest of the house.
