In February 2015, a team of rescuers found a horse named Gizmo. Gizmo was in really bad shape when he was rescued. He was only four months old and was suffering from dehydration, pneumonia and hypothermia. The rescuers immediately took Gizmo to the Catley Cross Veterinary Clinic.
When Gizmo arrived at the clinic, he could barely stand up. He was also having trouble breathing. The team at the clinic worked on Gizmo constantly. He received constant blood transfusions and antibiotics. The veterinary team also put Gizmo on a special diet.
It was very evident that Gizmo was a fighter. It was a long hard, road, but he eventually recovered completely. There were also donations given from people around the world. Gizmo’s story quickly went viral and touched hearts all over the world.
Gizmo was adopted by the Halstead Veterinary Clinic four months after he was rescued. His life got better after he was adopted. Even though the odds were stacked against him, he won the Young RSPCA. He also won the championship at Equifest in August 2015. Additionally, he was crowned the Rescue Horse Of The Year by the RSPCA. The judges were so amazed by Gizmo’s story that they could not hold back their tears.
