Jack Stephenson is the true definition of a fighter. Doctors did not expect him to survive because he was born with a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He only has half of a heart due to his condition. Jack is only 15 months old and has spent half of his life in the hospital. Not only was Jack born with a serious health condition, but he only weighed four pounds and four ounces at birth.
Jack had his first open heart surgery when he was just one week old. He has also had three more open heart surgeries. Jack has also undergone several other surgeries. Jack’s father says that he has had a total of nine surgeries. Not only has he had many surgeries, but he has also been on 12 different medications and even suffered a stroke.
Jack has undergone a miraculous recovery. He is finally home after spending many months in the hospital. The doctors have removed his feeding tubes. He is also starting to walk and talk.
Furthermore, there is a before and after photo to show the boy’s amazing transformation. One of the photos shows Jack in the hospital with multiple tubes in him. In the other photo, he looks like a healthy 15 month old.
