Spiraling all over Twitter is a degrading stunt to all homeless people. Zach Noble, a writer for The Blaze, wrote an article titled, “This Picture Taken Outside a Luxury Apartment Building Has Twitter Up in Arms.” It explains how a luxury apartment complex in London has installed spikes right outside of their building, which prevents homeless individuals from sleeping or congregating in such places. There has definitely been some mixed reactions from this situation, especially over the social networking site of Twitter.

Individuals are labeling these spikes as “anti homeless studs,” where they believe that the homeless are being treated like “pigeons.” The reasoning behind this is that the studs resemble spikes that some individuals install on buildings to prevent pigeons from living there.

Although, some people are agreeing that the luxury apartment complex has every right to lay down these spikes outside of their building. This is due to the fact that they are not the only business that has taken part in this increasingly popular stunt in London and that maybe it is a positive way to prevent negative situations from happening.

As well, a Tesco spokesperson stated that “the studs were put in place to try and stop people engaging in anti-social behaviour like smoking or drinking outside our store, which can be intimidating for our customers.”
