Conservatives have long been perplexed over the abject fear the left has of Christians in general. Some conservatives have openly expressed their exasperation that the left seemingly fears Christians more than they do terrorists.

Many faith-based people feel they are mocked in by the left and the left-leaning media. Apparently, one such person is Fox & Friends co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She tweeted that with the New Year, one thing she would like to see done away with is attacks on Christians. The left believes the attempt to start a twitter trend backfired with a number of negative comments being posted at Hasselbeck.

It appears that the left seems to believe that twitter trends are their sole domain. Regardless, Fox News starting a twitter trend is not what is bothering the left. This week, the final ratings came out for 24-hour news networks and CNN and MSNBC saw ratings decline.

That was not the case with the Fox News Network. The channel dominated the all-important 25-54 age group demographic for the 13th year in a row. The network also saw its share of ratings increase. By comparison, MSNBC, whose network president promised to make it to go-to place for liberals back in 2008, saw a significant ratings decline of 20%. Put another way, 1 in 5 of their existing viewers stopped watching the channel this past year.

MSNBC’s decline was so steep that it allowed CNN to edge past them in overall viewership despite not increasing their ratings share. The left may poke fun at Fox News’s twitter trend if they so desire, but viewers will still be flocking to the place that touts: “We report, you decide.”
