Obama Rips Mitch McConnell A New One! McConnell Tries Taking Credit For Economy?!?

It is clear that the United States has had an economic turnaround under the leadership of President Obama. However, Mitch McConnell would like people to believe that he is somewhat responsible for the uptick in the economy after one month of being Majority Leader.

It is important to remember that he and his fellow Republicans filibustered many movements that would have been great for the country. Obama even mentioned that these pieces of legislation had been filibustered and would have been great for middle-class Americans, who are now left with much less hope than they would have been. Despite all of this, Mitch McConnell still wants to give himself and his fellow Republicans credit for anything that did end up passing; he actually stated, “The uptick [in economic data] appears to coincide with the biggest political change of the Obama administration’s long tenure in Washington: the expectation of a new Republican Congress.”

However, Obama had some choice words for Mitch McConnell about this matter. He declared at a DNC winter meeting: “I just want everybody to remember that at every step when we made these policies, when we made this progress, we told by our good friends the Republicans that our actions would crush jobs, explode deficits, and destroy the country.”

However, it is clear that the Republicans were wrong about this matter. The nation’s deficits have decreased by two-thirds, the stock market has doubled and then some, and millions of citizens have had their 401(k)s restored.
