When a parent entrusts their child to a daycare, they hope that the child will be treated with love and respect. Unfortunately, an Ohio mother discovered something shockings when she went to Pick up her two year old son. Ryane Lamb’s toddler was covered in awful welts and bruises all over his legs.
Lamb immediately took her son to a hospital for proper care, and then she called the police. A surveillance video of the Cedar Early Learning Center in Cleveland helped the police to realize what had happened: a 49 year old employee was seen using a plastic backscratching instrument to hit little Amari at least 22 times. She later dragged Lamb’s son around by his arm and dropped him onto a changing table.
Lamb is understandably quite distraught that her son suffered so much abuse. She said: “
I could not believe…Just looking at that, that this place even had the audacity to do that to my baby for no reason, he didn’t deserve it at all.”
Unfortunately, Amari was not the only child to be abused. Surveillance videos from the same day show yet another worker at Cedar Early Learning Center using a plastic bat to hit an 18 month old baby girl. What the hell is going on at this place?
Once this news came to light, the daycare fired both the employees involved in the abuse. The police have also filed warrants for child endangerment against two women. Melissa Tate, the woman who beat Amari, is being charged with child abuse. Another daycare employee who saw Tate’s abuse is being charged because she did not stop or report Tate’s actions. and hopefully they both go to jail – toddlers don’t ever need to be beat.
