Heather McManamy was a mother who many people enjoyed being around. She loved her children and the rest of her family. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with cancer. However, she did leave her daughter a letter that she wrote to her friends and family that she wanted her husband to share after her passing.
The letter that Heather wrote wasn’t something full of complete love or sorrow. There is profanity in the letter, and there are some points where she makes blunt statements. It’s part of who she was, and it gives her family a comforting thought knowing that she is still alive through the letter that she wrote. Heather’s letter begins by letting those who reading it that she is dead.
She lets family and friends know that if they are reading the letter, then they aren’t dead. She is thankful that she got to live a long life and that being dead really sucks. Heather wants others to let her daughter know that the only thing she wants is to be with her.
Family and friends are to tell her daughter stories about the woman she was before cancer ate her body. When Heather could have seemed defeated, she added humor in that cancer was a way of life and that her family and friends need to celebrate the life she had instead of crying and being sad about the loss.
