Below the city streets is a literal underground society of drug addicts, living in abandoned tunnels and subterranean chambers, many of whom are HIV positive. This community is led by a man called Bruce Lee – abandoned by his parents, Lee has dedicated his life to protecting the street people and drug addicts of his city. The underground of Bucharest is a place where an addict can find nearly any kind of drug that they are looking for, they just have to gain access to Bruce Lee’s underground network and make friends with his crew.
Throughout the day, people line the crowded halls waiting to see Bruce Lee so that they can purchase just about any drug you could imagine: glue, heroine, meth, a methadone-like substance, paint that can be huffed, and a wide variety of other narcotics. His tunnels are there to serve and protect the addicted population of Romania. Lee even pays street gangs to make sure that his “family” isn’t harmed and has people watching their backs.
Bruce Lee is a man of mystery. Allegedly abandoned by his parents at the age of of three, Lee earned his nickname through his fighting prowess. He has spent his life on the streets of Bucharest, and has made a home in the tunnels underneath those streets.
