A man posted two photos online that he says broke his heart when he found the items. The photos were of an envelope and a letter that he found in his home. He had recently purchased the house after it was foreclosed on.
A nine-year-old is responsible for writing the letter and then hiding it in a cupboard in the home. The envelope simply stated “Whoever finds this letter, please open it. Thank U”.
The man decided to see what was inside and that is when his heart began to break for a child he had never met. The letter describes why he and his family were forced to move. A divorce between his parents meant that the children would stay with their mother. The boy described how he, his mother, sister and brother had to move. He was helping his mother with the move as well as helping his father move into a smaller house.
The boy’s only request was that the new owners take good care of the house, especially a particular bedroom that had green carpet. The nine-year-old closed out by saying that he loved the house and the room. The new owner decided to post photos of the letter and envelope online to share his heartbreak with others. A big piece of the little boy was left in the house where he was raised from the time he was born.
“Dear reader, My mom and Dad lived at this house for 15 years and I lived here for 9 years. So thats all my life but then my mom and dad got a dovorse [sic] and my mom took me my brother and my sister to a different house and now I am helping my dad move to a different house, a littler house. I love this house so much and please take care of the room with the green carpet over all the house because I grew up in this house and I love it.”
