A young girl named Kathleen was able to welcome her baby brother into the world first hand and under some strange circumstances. Kathleen, only three years old, had to lend a hand when her mother started going into labor.
It was dark. The power had gone out so only one paramedic was able to respond to the 911 call. Shorthanded, the medic handed the soon-to-be-sister a flashlight and told her to “hold it over mommy” while he helped deliver the baby.
Imagine, if you can, watching a child be born as a child yourself. It would probably be confusing, to say the least. So naturally when a new human being was pulled out of her crying mother, Kathleen’s imagination took over…
The paramedic held the newborn upright and lightly spanked him to get the baby crying (I looked it up. They actually do that… or used to). Kathleen was officially a big sister! The family was one baby brother bigger and everyone was relieved. Their mother, curious what her daughter thought of the whole experience, asked her what she thought. To which the Kathleen promptly replied:
“He shouldn’t have crawled in there in the first place. Smack his ass again!”
