The film will be produced by Ball’s two children. Aaron Sorkin will be writing the script. The film will tell the story of Lucille’s career and her twenty year marriage to Desi Arnaz.

There have already been two television biopics of Lucille Ball. The first television biopic was “Lucy And Desi”, which made its debut in 1991. The second was “Lucy,” which premiered in 2003. However, this will be the first time the life of Lucille Ball will be depicted in a major motion picture.

Even though the film has not been released yet, people are already predicting that it will be an Oscar contender. Blanchett has won two Academy Awards. The first Academy Award was for her role in “The Aviator.” The other Academy Award was for her role in “Blue Jasmine.”

Aaron Sorkin won an Academy Award for his work in “The Social Network.” Sorkin has also written Broadway plays. He is rumored to be working on a biopic of Steve Jobs. Neither Sorkin nor Blanchett’s agents have commented on the upcoming biopic yet.
