Losing a pet can be every bit as horrible as losing a good human friend. Millie, a kitten born with the heart ailment tetrology of fallot, came into the world very sick. And her owners weren’t going to give up on here without a fight.
Tetralogy of fallot is a congenital problem that can trigger issues such as cyanosis (bluish skin discoloration), shortness of breath, passing out and feebleness. Millie was much smaller than other kittens in her same age group. So small that she couldn’t even properly use her food dish. Despite this, the youngster still had plenty of enthusiasm for playtime with her lively siblings. While extremely playful, she frequently ran out of breath. Since Millie was so small, surgery wasn’t a viable option for her.
Doctors chose to give her small amounts of a medicine called atenolol instead. This stops high blood pressure, chest aching and heart attacks. With plenty of patience and caring from her owners, Millie proved everyone wrong and is now one year old and counting! Although they didn’t believe she’d get past six months, here she is today.
While her health condition is still far from perfect, she’s won’t give up and is still working at bettering it. Millie’s owners adore her and have determined to give her a healthy and happy life for years to come.
