Keith Olbermann’s 176 Reasons Trump Should Not Be Elected President

Keith Olbermann is one of the most respected voices in television, and he has recently returned to the spotlight thanks to a new web series entitled ‘The Closer with Keith Olbermann’. The initial episode in the series takes a hard-hitting look at Donald Trump and his campaign for president. The episode includes a vast list of reasons why Donald Trump should not be elected President of the United States, and he goes through the list with extreme clarity and efficiency.

It is difficult to listen to the list of cons against Donald Trump without seeing how each of his flaws are connected. His attitude toward the general public has been consistently disrespectful and vitriolic, especially when he calls for violence from his supporters at his rallies.

Olbermann starts off the video by discussing how Americans have a responsibility to each other to defend our country not only from foreign entities that want to push terrorism and war upon the American people, but also from those who claim to have a commitment to Democracy but instead are simply selfish, self-centric individuals aiming to pad their bank accounts and their massive egos. Trump falls firmly in this category, and his presidential aspirations are simply the next step in his narcissism and greed.

Olbermann references how Trump has treated his constituents, primarily as if they are puppets that he can manipulate with acidic comments and dangerous rhetoric. He also speaks to Trump’s lack of candor when insulting and attacking his political rivals. Trump once released an ad that attacked Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with false imagery including piles of cash and the Star of David. The ad in question was clearly meant to connect Hillary to some financial conspiracy while simultaneously attacking her religious convictions.

The episode goes on to discuss how Trump continuously attacks people with whom he differs or disagrees. It draws attention to the incident in which Trump attacked a Latino judge for his heritage, claiming the judge couldn’t possibly be unbiased as a Latino man. Trump also attacked several reporters for their appearance, including at least one who was born with a condition that caused his arms to develop abnormally. Trump obviously refused to notice or care the man had a medical condition, and instead felt it was appropriate to insult and degrade the man.

Further along in the episode, Oblermann confirms that Trump once attacked the father of Ted Cruz, another potential candidate early in the election race. Trump claimed Cruz’s father was involved in the shooting of President Kennedy, which is a totally unfounded and false claim. Trump also attacked soldiers in Iraq, claiming they stole millions during the war. Trump even claimed that Bill Clinton was a rapist, and he based that assertion purely on his own feelings. Such slander isn’t conducive with the behavior of the highest office in the United States.

Trump’s supposed charitable activity was also brought into question by Olbermann, which makes perfect sense when you consider the fact that many organizations who are supposed to have received money from the Trump Foundation never received those donations. Olbermann points out there may be millions of undocumented money moving through the Trump Foundation, all of it being used for Trump’s personal life much more frequently than any charity organization.

Olbermann’s web series has certainly gotten off to a positive start with this video, and his thorough analysis of Trump’s character and campaign are perfectly conveyed with his incredible wit and intellect. There is a good chance that his web series will continue to discuss Trump and the entire election process over the coming months.
