Jared Kushner Now Dealing With China – Not The US State Department

President Donald Trump has given unprecedented power and influence to his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who is married to his daughter Ivanka. While his primary experience is in the world of business, he has begun to deal with all sorts of matters that would normally be reserved for an astute political figure. One of the most impressive items on his agenda involves dealing with China, which is one of the most powerful countries in the world.

So far, it would seem that the Chinese government has been happy with its meetings with Kushner. However, many people in the U.S. government are less than thrilled. His appointment reeks of nepotism, and few believe that he truly has the qualifications to undertake such an important job.

Some are also concerned about what will happen when Kushner is unavailable and President Trump has to perform one of his duties himself.

In the general populace, there are lots of jokes about Kushner floating around, particularly about the fact that he did not have to go through a normal vetting process. This is an administration that prides itself on doing things differently, but it will be interesting to see whether those differences ultimately help or hurt ordinary Americans.
