There are times in life when someone else might need comfort. One woman thought she was offering comfort to someone, but he said something that took her by surprise. The man is in a hospital bed when a student nurse entered his room to help the man with a bath. He was wearing an oxygen mask, so it was hard to understand anything he said.
The man asks the nurse if his testicles were black. She tells him that she is only in the room to help bathe his arms and upper area of the body, at which point he asked her again if his testicles were black. The nurse begins to worry that the man’s concern for black his testicles could cause his blood pressure to rise.
So, she suppressed her anxiety and pulled the sheet off of his lower body. She examined his testicles and told him that they were absolutely fine, no they were not black. The man took off the oxygen mask so that he could speak more clearly and explained to the nurse that he was thankful for that information. But that’s not what he wanted to know.
“Are my test results back?” he asked her, smiling.
Utterly embarrassed the nurse blushed and replied, “Yes, I am SO sorry! Yes. Yes, your results just came in. You have Leukemia.”
