There are a lot of dumb things that you can do online, but this ISIS fighter did probably one of the dumbest things that you can do.
No matter how obsessed you are with social media, you need to make sure that you are not giving out the wrong information, especially if you are being searched for by enemy forces. Mark Taylor who is obsessed with tweeting has not figured out how to stop the twitter obsession while he is fighting for ISIS.
This is something that has created a big problem for him. When Taylor was obsessively tweeting, he totally forgot to turn off his location features on his phone. All of his Tweets were geo tagged, meaning anyone who read these tweets would know exactly where him and his fellow Syrian troops were hiding.
Taylor soon found out that his 45 tweets told everyone exactly where he was. He rushed to take down all of these tweets, but it wasn’t soon enough. Their location had already been foiled.
Taylor and his comrades were captured, and the tweets that he put up are being used to find out even more information. This is a big mistake on Taylor’s part, and one that has helped to find hidden ISIS soldiers.
