A Tucson, Arizona mom recently took her son, Chase, to visit the local Apple Store. While there, he was playing with the computers and gadgets when he finally settled at a table to do his homework. His mother, Angel, noticed that a female store employee was chatting with Chase, but she did not think it was important. A few minutes later, the store manager approached Angel and asked if they could talk.
The female employee, Vicki, had asked Chase what he was doing, and he replied that he was doing homework for his first grade class. He then explained he should be in the second grade but was held back due to his lengthy hospitalization for brain cancer, and he was working hard to advance to second grade in the next year.
Vicki was emotionally overcome by Chase’s response and spoke to the manager, Jason, about the boy. They decided to gift Chase with an iPod Nano. After receiving the Nano, Chase said thank you while his mother shed tears of joy. She said the device was perfect because Chase is obsessed with time as that is how he keeps track of his cancer treatments. He can also listen to his favorite band, Queen, whenever he wants.
Chase’s mom told the story to KGUN 9 in Tucson to show her appreciation for the kindness of the Apple Store employees.
