Her Son Died In Iraq, But He Sent Something Special From Heaven….

A man, a very brave man, named Justin Rollins had a calling to join the Military after 911. He wanted to defend his country and he soon joined the 82nd Airborn Division Paratroopers in Samarra, Iraq. He said goodbye to his parents in New Hampshire and the girl he left behind, his first love from high school, Brittany. As Brittany later remembered her last phone call with Justin, he had said that he had some very special pictures he would be sending her and couldn’t wait for her to see them.

The next day, as Justin’s mom woke up, she felt something was wrong, very, wrong. As the day progressed, she could not seem to shake, this feeling she had, that she did not understand. It seemed to haunt her as the day went on. That afternoon, two United States Officers knocked on the door of the Rollins household. The new, that no family ever wants to here, came as they informed them, that their very brave son had lost his life, fighting for his country in Iraq.

Several days later, before Brittany left for Justin’s funeral, she found his last email to her and the pictures he had promised her that were so very special to him. She found pictures of him and his buddies, smiling, holding cute, little puppies they had found in Iraq. Later, as she showed the pictures of the cute little puppies and the smiles of Justin and his buddy’s faces, they knew they needed to bring at least one of the puppies to their home in New Hampshire.

Several days later at the funeral, Justin’s mom asked his fellow soldiers if they could try to find at least one of the little puppies Justin and his buddies had found that were in the pictures. Not sure if they would be able to find them, they promised to at least try. As God would have it, one of the puppies was found and sent to their home in New Hampshire. Brittany and his parents just knew when the puppy arrived, a little miracle had been sent from God and Justin, to make things just a little easier to bear. As she was the last life Justin had saved, they appropriately named her Hero.

Later, as they were telling the story to a reporter from 20/20, on how the little puppy had found a friend with their son and a family in New Hampshire, sunlight shone through the clouds, shining down on their friend, Hero. They knew at that moment, that Justin was with them, looking down on their little Hero, with a little bit of Justin to keep with them, a touching sign from Heaven. A touching tribute to a hero and his comrades, who had been showing their bravery as they defended their country.
