Her Mom Noticed A Dark Ring Around Her Neck, But NEVER Expected The Doctor To Say This:

Childhood obesity is on the rise in the United States, which means that the diseases that are associated with obesity are not far behind. It should come as no surprise that many teens are being diagnosed with type-2 diabetes, one of the most common ailments that is associated with obesity.

Mother to 14-year-old Pantera noticed that her daughter was getting a strange dark ring around her neck. In addition to the strange ring, her daughter was also starting to suffer from mood swings, headaches, and a constant thirst. Knowing something was wrong, her mother brought Pantera to the doctor for a check-up.

It was there that the doctor told them that the dark ring around her neck was a warning sign that the teen had developed type-2 diabetes. The dark ring is a sign that your insulin is not functioning properly. It is called acanthosis nigricans and it can also be found in the groin area or under the armpits.

Pantera and her mother have decided to make her story public to hopefully help others that may either be in the same situation or going down the same path. Type-2 diabetes is a serious condition that can be avoided by eating a healthy diet and exercising.
