Her Last Message Was *2 Drunk 2 Care*. When She Woke Up She Found Herself In The Worst Nightmare

There are consequences to our decisions, whether good or bad. Sometimes people make decisions with faulty or inadequate information. A bad decision overrides our senses. As a result we choose an option we know is wrong. We may not always experience the consequences right away but they will come.

Kayla Mendoza found out the hard way. She made a bad decision. She chose to drink then drive. With her senses already impaired as a result of alcohol consumption, Kayla paid the ultimate price. She took the lives of two human beings and, in due course, ended her own life in many respects. Her sentence was 24 years in prison, 6 years probation and suspension of driving privileges. Albeit a small price to pay compared to that of her victims.

Kaitlyn Ferrante and Marisa Catronio were best friends out for a drive. I am certain had they known what was in store for them, they would not have taken that fateful drive. Kaitlyn and Marisa also made a decision. Did they cut their own lives short by their decision?

This is not an indictment nor do I suggest they are at fault for their own deaths. Kayla still carries that burden. I believe, though, the creator instills within us instinct. This instinct tells us if we should go or if we should stay. Sometimes we supersede that instinct and do not recognize it as the voice of reason.

In life, there will always be consequences to our decisions.
