Omid Asadi is an artist who creates highly unique artwork on leaves. He developed the concept because he wanted to give people a reason to admire nature in a new and exciting way. Asadi carefully cuts incredible scenes and portraits out of leaves with an X-Acto knife.
The entire process is complex and requires a very delicate touch. Because Asadi is highly skilled, his steady hands help him create innovative images using negative space. In some cases, Asadi may put a design on a leaf by cutting through it. However, he doesn’t touch the veins because they give the art a lacy look.
If he wants a dramatic effect, he’ll slice off a large portion of a leaf. Asadi began modifying leaves in Iran as a child. His early designs featured flower petals that were craved with a needle. As a teenager, Asadi didn’t develop new art pieces very much because he discovered new habits.
However, he continued his hobby several years later in England. He was inspired when he saw the autumn leaves in Manchester. Today, Omid creates wonderful art pieces that attract a lot of attention around the world. He cuts designs that feature plants, animals, and abstract elements.
