He Covers His Headlights In A Thick Layer Of Toothpaste. When He Shows Me Why I Ran To Try Myself

If you have an older or dirty car, you might notice that over time your headlights seem cloudy or dim. This is not only a cosmetic problem, but also an issue of safety. Dim headlights can make your car les visible to other drivers when driving at night. But instead of taking an expensive trip to the car wash, try this easy at home trick, instead! All you need is a toothbrush and some toothpaste.

That’s right–toothpaste can buff out the yellow colored coating of your headlights, just as you would clean plaque buildup off of your teeth. In the video, the man explains that some of the yellowing occurs on the inside of the light, which cannot be cleaned with this method. But, if you can feel a rough, dirty coating on the surface of your headlights, this technique will work.

He uses Colgate with baking soda and peroxide and takes note that toothgel will not work the same. He simply smears the toothpaste onto the surface of the headlight and buffs it away with a toothbrush. After, just spray some warm water and wipe it clean. The results are clear and amazing!

You might need to brush a lot, depending on how much dirt is coating your light or how old your toothbrush is. You can also use a second coat, although the video shows results with just one. Whatever you do, just be sure to keep this toothbrush out of your bathroom!
