There are children who receive invitations to birthday parties on a regular basis. Parents of children with special needs sometimes don’t see smiles and laughter as their children might not get invited to special events as often as others. Some children with autism become panicked when they are around a lot of people or in an environment where there is a lot of noise.
Timothy Klein has autism. He has his own interests as well as things that he doesn’t enjoy. He’s a typical child, but there are times when too much activity can be distracting.
Because of his condition, he usually has to turn down invitations to birthday parties. He recently received a special invitation with a note attached. After reading the note, Timothy’s mother was in tears.
Ainsley Peikos hosted a birthday party for her son. The two boys became close friends in school. They would sit beside each other in class and play outside. The mother sent an invitation home with Timothy and told Timothy’s mother that there would be water balloons and a bounce house.
If Timothy would like to arrive early so that the wasn’t around all of the children, then that would be alright with Ainsley. The family wanted to include Timothy in a celebration that many other children wouldn’t think about, making Timothy and his mother very happy.
