Pop music superstar Gwen Stefani is making headlines the world over for her act of kindness towards a young fan who had been bullied for most of his life. During a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida, Stefani noticed a sign held by a woman in the audience saying,
“My son was bullied from first to fifth grade. He would come home every day upset but he’d go into his room, listen to your music, and smile.”
Stefani read the sign aloud and then invited the young boy to come up and meet her onstage. After a bit of hesitation, the child went onstage and received a big hug from the pop megastar.
After the show, Stefani invited the boy and his mother to meet her backstage, much to the family’s joy. Sharing a picture of the moment on Instagram, Stefani wrote that,
“About 3 years ago when things were hard in my life I prayed to God everyday that I could get a chance to use my gift that God gave me and make a difference in some way in this world – last night this little guy was the answer to my prayers.”
Stefani’s compassion for her young fan will no doubt stay with him throughout his life.
