Four year-old Helena is lucky to be alive. One year ago, she was submerged in a pond for 10 minutes when a car she was riding in crashed into the water. Helena’s mother, Chasity White, stated that the accident happened after she turned her head for one second to look at a picture that her daughter had drawn.
Chasity realized that she was getting ready to go off the road, so she swerved. The car then plunged into the water. Fortunately, there were many good Samaritans by, including Sherry Jackson. Chasity managed to get out of the car, but Helena was still trapped in the car. Sherry, Sheriff Bryan Bailey and William Banks helped get Helena out of the car.
It took 10 minutes to get Helena out because they had problems unfastening her car seat. When they got Helena out of the car, they gave her CPR. She was then transported to the hospital. She was in critical condition for a long time.
One year later, Chasity is happy to report that Helena is recovering just fine. Chasity stated that there were guardian angels looking out for Helena the whole time. She is anxious to see what happens in Helena’s future because she knows her daughter is here for a reason.
