Gay Military Couple’s First-Kiss Photo Takes Internet By Storm

Army Spc. Shane Adriano and Reservist Pfc. Tristian Resz both knew it was love at first sight when they met. The couple were together for a few months before Adriano popped the big question- and Resz did not hesitate to say yes! Resz knew that they were meant for each other and didn’t want to let him slip away.

The couple were wed on February 11th of this year and had a small courtroom ceremony. In attendance the couple had a few friends and the judge who performed their ceremony. They chose the Greene County Courthouse because they wanted a venue that would be both intimate and small. However, the news of their union ended up being anything but.

After the ceremony was over, the couple shared the photo of their first kiss as a married couple on Facebook. The photo that the shared ended up going viral and being seen by users around the world. A few days after the wedding, it had been shared nearly 1,000 times, liked over 4,000 times and received hundreds of comments. While a few of those comments were negative, Adriano said that the majority were positive and in support of the newlyweds. Many comments were from others in the military who were proud at how far the military has come over the years in accepting those who are LGBTQ in their personnel.
