Typically, when you see a nice house with nice things on the inside, people have been living there and enjoying what is inside. However, this is not the case with this house of Nathan Chandler’s. He posted pictures on Flickr advertising his kitchen.

It may surprise many to know that the house was actually built in 1956, and the kitchen is full of vintage GE appliances. It will surprise people even more to know that the house has never been lived in, and the appliances in the kitchen have never been used. It is more like a museum than a house in many ways.

This kitchen’s design is completely retro and will have people who see it immediately experiencing a piece of the past. The rounded pink counter top and the retro designs on the floor are just one part of it. The small ledges close to the window are also both attractive and functional.

The silver knobs on the cupboards are rarely seen in home designs nowadays, nor are the silver napkin and tissue boxes that are built into the kitchen. The oven is also delightfully retro in appearance, and it comes complete with a General Electric instruction booklet, which machines no longer come with.

The kitchen is also equipped with a refrigerator (which is actually perched high off of the ground as a part of the kitchen rather than a separate stand alone appliance), and a dishwasher that looks more like a laundry machine to the modern eye.
