You know the phrase, “I think I died and just went to heaven?” Well, this perfectly describes how Lady, a formerly neglected dog may feel right at this moment. Her story is incredible and heartwarming. This is especially true if you too share the love of animals. It is a sort of Cinderella tale for the world of neglected dogs.
Lady, a senior dog with arthritis, spent the last two years shuffling from dog shelter to dog shelter after her original owner died.
A family eventually adopted her. Unfortunately, they were abusive toward her. In fact, they abandoned Lady. Sadly, she walked approximately 30 miles back to their home, only to find they refuse to take her in. Social media was a God send to Lady. Helen Rich Rosburg, heiress of Wrigley Gum, heard about Lady’s sad story.
Rosburg flew a private jet to bring Lady to her Florida animal sanctuary. Rosburg, a true animal lover, takes in neglected animals.
She actually has an animal trainer that works with dogs, particularly ones with behavioral problems as a result of being abused. She also has 15 other additional staff who help her care for the rescued animals she takes in. Lady truly will think she has died and gone to heaven. She will be pampered and care for the rest of her dog days.
