Dogs can be the most affectionate and sweet creatures — truly man’s best friend. The gentle relationship between a dog named Himalaya and a young boy who has Down syndrome named Hernan truly depicts that.
Hernan was sitting around on the concrete outside. He was relaxing at the time and didn’t exactly feel like playing with his eager pooch. Although Hernan had absolutely no interest in playtime, Himalaya couldn’t stop trying to get him to participate in the fun.
She gently laid down right in front of the little youngster, softly putting her paws on his feet. When Hernan didn’t respond to her friendly play invitations, they both lounged around looking off into the distance while still truly enjoying each others’ company. Himalaya kept waiting to see if the boy would do anything. She’d regularly inch up a little closer to Hernan, putting her large paws on his small body and sniffing at him.
He’d put his tiny hands on her face. The interaction kept continuing in this manner for several minutes. Himalaya would go back and forth between gently nudging young Hernan and trying to get him to begin a fun play session with her. The interaction between Hernan and his beloved pet Himalaya is truly an illustration of the beauty of relationships between people and animals. Himalaya displayed unwavering patience and gentleness in front of the youngster. Hernan was also extremely gentle and patient toward playful Himalaya.
People who have ever been in doubt about the power of canine-human relationships won’t be after watching Hernan and Himalaya together.
