At times, something could go wrong while walking in the woods. Someone might lose track of a trail, or the darkness might fall too soon, making it hard to get out of the wooded area. A man and a dog went missing, and when officers used a helicopter to search for them in the woods, they caught something amazing on film.
Martin Kay is a senior citizen who was missing for at least 7 hours when officers received a call to look for him. Most helicopters have thermal cameras that can capture heat signatures on the ground below.
As the helicopter flew into the air, they were soon able to spot the man and rescue him. At some point while walking, the man fell into a muddy area. The mud made it hard to get out, and instead of fighting, the man stayed in one place until he was found. Officers found a dog laying beside him in the mud.
Officers believe that the dog protected the man so that other animals wouldn’t harm him and so that he wouldn’t be alone while in the woods. The dog had been by the man’s side the entire time and didn’t try to leave, proving that the animal really is man’s best friend.
