Creationist Ken Ham Just Gave The Weirdest Reason Why We Should Stop Exploring Space

In his Sunday column on the Answers in Genesis website, creationist Ken Ham commented that the government should stop throwing away millions of dollars in space exploration because any aliens found are damned to hell anyways. He believes that in an effort to rebel against God, secularists are determined to prove there is life in outer space.

Ham stands by the belief that God created man, that their is no evidence that life evolved. He states that the Bible does not make any claims whether there is or isn’t life in outer space. True Christians should not be entertaining the efforts of those determined to undermine the fact that God is the creator of man.

Even if life were found in outer space, Ham firmly believes that it is impossible that life is intelligent. Ham references the Bible, claiming any sins done by Adam affected the universe. This means if there is anything living outside this planet that it is also affected by those sins. Bloggers like Hemant Mehta believe that Ham has reached a new low with his ridiculous observations and comments.

Mehta commented on Ham’s observations stating that the government should consider ending space exploration because aliens are damned to hell? The fact that he lumps all Christians together stating they shouldn’t expect to ever find any alien life because they are not intelligent is simply a ludicrous statement to make, even for Ham. To have the space program ended because it would be a waste to explore a new life form that are damned to eternal damnation sounds more like something for the movies.
