Cats by nature are moody and not normally keen on showing an overabundance of affection. They are happy and content to eat, sleep (a lot), and play with whatever inanimate object strikes their fancy whether it is a piece of tissue paper or a pencil.
And by no means show them affection unless they show it to you first. But when a cat named Panda’s mother gets pregnant a new side of these furry friends was shown. The cat had a somewhat baffling change of heart.
For the nine months leading up to the birth of the brand new baby, Panda the cat would snuggle lovingly and lay with it’s paws wrapped around its mother’s pregnant belly in a sweet and gentle embrace. Panda would purr and follow her mother around as if guarding the unborn baby and waiting in utter anticipation of the new arrival. The heightened affection was astonishing and beautiful.
When the baby was born happy and healthy, it was interesting to see what the cat would do next. Of course after a little time for Panda to get used to this new bundle of joy in the house, she was up to her old habits.
In a sort of triangle of affection, the cat would lay, snuggled in, on top of the baby’s back who was snoozing peacefully atop mom’s belly. It is such an adorable beginning to what is sure to be the best story of friendship between a child and his pet.
