Monica Flagg has stated that her first day of chemotherapy was terrible, and it never should have happened. When she returned home from treatment, she ended up falling and breaking two bones in her leg. This actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
When Monica went to the hospital, the doctors performed a series of tests. The tests showed that she was healthy and did not have any signs of cancer. Monica’s regular doctor had been out of town, so the tests were performed by Dr. Maunglay.
Dr. Farid Fata was the physician who diagnosed Monica with cancer. Investigators found out that Dr. Fata had been committing healthcare fraud. He had scammed over 500 patients and told them that they had cancer. Not only did he lie to healthy patients, but he also gave cancer patients toxic levels of chemotherapy. He gave an apology back in 2013, but it was not enough. Many people decided to file lawsuits. Dr. Fata is now facing 45 years in prison for healthcare fraud.
Brian McKeen is Maunglay’s lawyer. He stated that if Monica would have not broken her legs, she might not have lived much longer. Dr. Fata was using toxic levels of chemotherapy.
