Bindi Irwin Breaks Into Tears On Television After This Moving Tribute To Her Father Steve Irwin

Australia’s wildlife guru Steve Irwin passed away in September of 2006 after a stingray swiftly ended his life in a diving accident. The news completely shocked the world, and Irwin’s then 8 year-old daughter Bindi was devastated by the loss of her father. The beloved “The Crocodile Hunter” has left a deep legacy of dedication to wildlife and protecting our natural environment.

His little girl is now all grown up,  17 years old, and a participant on the hit television show “Dancing With the Stars”. Television audiences have gravitated to the teen thanks to her ebullient demeanor which, unsurprisingly, isn’t too different from that of her vivacious father. Viewershave admired Bindi since she first began on the show. Although Bindi’s television image has been undeniably bright and animated, she recently showed an element of depth when she discussed how intensely her father’s death affected her.

Steve Irwin was only 44 years old when he passed away. Bindi noted that she had tried not to overthink her father’s death at the time it happened. But now, she’s finally prepared to share her side of the tragedy. The talented duo danced intensely to a covered version of “Every Breath You Take” by “The Police”.

Once the twosome finished their dance, Bindi sobbed as Hough held her. She clearly was thinking about how much her father meant to her and to so many other people all over the world. It’s no shock that Bindi and Hough got a very positive reaction to their touching and poignant performance. They recieved the best score of the night, an impressive 28 of 30 points. Bruno Tonioli, an Italian choreographer and judge on the program, was so wowed by Bindi and Hough’s dancing he actually awarded them with a flawless 10/10 score… The first 10 ever awarded on season 21.

Needless to say, young Bindi (and Hough) deserved the success. She’s doing her father Steve proud every day, and fans surely can’t wait to see what’s next for the extremely talented young lady. She’s a devoted conservationist, in the fall of 2014, the Australian Geographic Society named her as being the “Young Conservationist of the Year.” Bini Irwin is already making a vibrant name for herself, we’ll all be watching to see what her next big victory is.
