Where is that fine line between political opinion and hate speech? Apparently the Tea Party neither knows nor cares. Claiming to not be racists, but rather patriots, those claims are ringing more and more hollow by the day. Simply because the moon is full of holes, no reasonable person would conclude that it’s made of Swiss cheese. Likewise, when your party constantly has to defend itself against charges of racism, wrapping yourself in the flag in no way makes you any more a patriot or less a racist.
Take WorldNetDaily talk show host Andrea Shea King’s recent commentary regarding Israeli prime minster Netanyahu’s speech before Congress. Decide for yourself if you detect a hint of racism in her words directed at the Congressional Black Caucus. “I would like to think that these guys could pay with their lives, hanging from a noose in front of the U.S. Capitol Building. What they are doing is they are putting their own interests above that of America, and to me that is criminal.”
Members of the President’s own party boycotting a speech by a foreign leader hardly seems so offensive, as to deserve hanging, unless of course, you’re a racist. Never one to shy away from inflammatory remarks, King also called the congressmen’s constituents “dumb clucks” “stupid, stupid people” and “ignorant, dangerous.”
Keep in mind, this is the same plus-sized Tea Party pundit who in 2013 described first lady Michelle Obama as having a Cro-Magnon lower jaw, overweight, big-footed and bug-eyed. Of course none of this makes King a racist if you believe the moon is made of cheese.
