Angelina Jolie Pitt On Global Migrant Crisis : ‘Isolation is NOT the answer’

Last year, well over a million Middle Eastern and African migrants arrived in Europe. Now, many more are piling up to enter.

In a recent speech, Angelina Jolie Pitt, a special UN envoy for refugees, claimed that isolation is not an answer, and the problems far away will affect us all in a negative way. She compared the current situation to a fire at a neighbor’s house. She claimed no one is safe until these problems are solved.

While the Western countries are under pressure by the liberal media to accept millions of migrants, no such pressures are brought on rich Gulf States such as Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, or Saudi Arabia. Also, no one is calling for China to accept the migrants despite China’s growing wealth.

While accepting real refugees is a humanitarian thing to do, many of the migrants are not war refugees but economic migrants. Some of them come with fake Syrian passports, while some others refuse to show any documents. It’s also reported that there are migrants coming from countries not affected by war such as Sri Lanka or Pakistan.

While Mrs. Jolie called for openness, she didn’t offer any viable solutions about handling these issues. In the past, she and her husband, Brad Pitt, have adopted children from poor countries such as Cambodia.
