Kimberly Henderson was pregnant with her fourth child when she found out that her boyfriend had been unfaithful. She felt alone and thought that abortion was her only option. She waited in the abortion clinic for hours. She tried to convince herself that she was doing the right thing. However, Kimberly knew that she was getting ready to make a horrible mistake.
Kimberly stated that God was giving her signs throughout the day, which told her not to go through with the abortion. On the day she was scheduled to have her abortion, Kimberly’s daughter was sick. She had to get a sitter for her daughter. She was late for her appointment, but they were still able to squeeze her in.
When Kimberly’s name was called, she looked through her wallet to find her ID. A prayer card fell out. It had Isaiah 41:10 on it, which states “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you. I will hold up your victorious right hand”. Kimberly stated that she knew God was speaking to her.
Kimberly told the receptionist that she changed her mind and left the clinic. As she was leaving the clinic, she met another young woman who was waiting to get an abortion. The woman told Kimberly that she wished she could be brave and not get the abortion. The woman also told Kimberly that she will be happy that she did not go through with the abortion.
Kimberly’s daughter, Vaida, was born on September 12, 2013. She has enriched Kimberly’s life in many ways. When Vaida was a year old, she had trouble getting to sleep one night. Kimberly sang Vaida a song to get her to go to sleep. She uploaded the song to YouTube, and the video went viral. Kimberly says that Vaida was meant to be here, and she feels lucky to have her daughter.
