Norma, a 90-year-old woman from Michigan, had a rough year in 2015. She lost her husband Leo of 67-years and was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the uterus. Her doctor gave her the treatment options which included major surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. However, Norma decided to take her treatment options into her own hands. She left the hospital, said good-bye to her friends in her nursing home, and hasn’t looked back.
With her family in tow, Norma hit the road in an RV camper for an epic road trip. Together, Norma’s family has been traveling around the United States visiting National Parks and various cities just taking in the sights and enjoying the time that they have together. This trip has allowed Norma to visit places that she has never seen before.
The family has visited Florida where they have gone on a hot air balloon ride and saw Kennedy Space Center. They have also visited the Rocky Mountains, New Orleans, and were invited to participate in a Native American ceremony during a festival. Not only is Norma and her family trekking through the United States, they have also traveled to other countries such as China.
Norma has a Facebook page that she keeps her thousands of followers updated with her travels. In the time that they have been on the road, Norma has been feeling great and is feeling no pain from her cancer.
