Military professionals consider it a great honor to be able to defend their country. However, being away from one’s family can, at times, be incredibly difficult. Many soldiers end up missing important dates, such as family vacations, graduations and even weddings.
Lance was a soldier who had been deployed for 27 months. Over those five years he had seen a lot, but not much of his family, including his younger brother Rex. Rex was due to get married and was convinced Lance would not be able to make the wedding.
Little did Rex know he was about to get the surprise of his life.
Moments before everyone left for the wedding, Lance showed up at his brother’s house . Rex was overwhelmed, surprised and excited to see his brother. Other’s had known Lance was coming home, but kept it secret from Rex. It was an amazing surprise. The family was very happy that Lance was able to make the wedding, through saddened that his stay would be a short one. Lance had to leave the very next day. He was preparing for another deployment.
