The Robertson family, who became famous after their television reality show, Duck Dynasty, premiered, saw one of the members of their large family married on the family farm in West Monroe, Louisiana on June 27.

Luke Robertson and his new bride Mary Kate McEacharn are both 19 years old, and had first met at a Christian summer camp five years ago. Three years later, they began dating, and on Robertson’s 19th birthday last October, the couple became engaged.

More than 800 people attended the ceremonies that were officiated by Robertson’s father, Willie, who was wearing his trademark American flag bandanna. Prior to the start of the event, a mariachi band serenaded the crowd.

That was part of the casual atmosphere that surrounded the event, since McEacharn had wanted the event to have an air of fun, with flowers being the focal point.

Plenty of unique food was available for both the couple and the invited guests. Such items as barbecue shrimp, brisket sliders and grilled chicken skewers served as a portion of the menu, with the unlikely combination of hamburgers and tacos also part of the cuisine.

Dessert included cronuts in lieu of the usual groom’s cake, while a white cake that stood six tiers high and had the ever-present flowers around it was the main option available.

The couple plans to attend Liberty University in Virginia during the Fall semester. McEacharn had been attending Louisiana Tech, but dropped out in order to begin making plans for the couple’s wedding.
