Determined To Help Stray Dog, She Did THIS In NYC Park During Dead Of Winter…

Denise Lauffer loves dogs, and she has a passion for rescuing dogs in desperate need. For many years now, she has been feeding Charlie, a wild stray who has been living in a New York City Park. This dog was born as part of a pack of stray dogs who would prowl Highbridge park in Manhattan.

For a long time Denise has been visiting the park and making sure that this dog had enough food. However, she recently realized that her canine friend is getting older, and he is slower and in poorer health than he used to be. Since Denise knew that the New York winter would be extremely cold, with temperature sometimes going below zero, she was very concerned for Charlie, and worried he might not make it through the winter.

Because she cared so much about him, she decided to do somethingto make sure that Charlie got the medical care he needed. What she did was move into the park, spending two nights sleeping in a cardboard box. She did this to strengthen the trust of the wild dog, and it worked very well. She fed him hot meals and lined his bed with warming material.

After this, Denise and a group of neighbors were able to get this dog to come with them so that he could get the medical care that he needed so badly. They were successful, and he is now being treated for Lyme Disease and making a wonderful recovery. If it hadn’t been for Lauffer’s courage to help animals, Charlie might not have made it through the winter…
