VIDEO: He Criss Crosses Scotch Tape On This Vase. The Reason? AWESOME

Receiving a beautiful bouquet of flowers is a wonderful thing. If you’ve ever been the recipient of flowers and excitedly placed them into a vase only to be heartbroken about how they look in their new container, you’re not alone. It can be tough to maintain the beautiful arrangements of flowers in vases. All vases are shaped differently, after all. Vases often force flowers to lean, making the middle portions of bouquets appear somewhat empty.

Thankfully, a quick trick can help you avoid this problem. Simply fill your vase up with H20. Then wipe the inner portion of the vase around the top to make sure that it’s fully dry. Get scotch tape and put three strips of it across the opening of the container. Do the same in the other direction, creating a neat lattice. If you do this, it will establish a structure for the opening of your vase that will make the arrangement of your bouquet look full and evenly distributed.

Before you put the individual flowers in the vase with the tape lattice, cut all of them so they’re roughly the same length. Then slowly and cautiously place them between the strips of tape. Once you’re done, your floral arrangement should look visually appealing and exciting rather than lifeless and empty.

Fortunately, this neat little trick can be effective for flowers of all varieties. The next time you’re lucky enough to get a bouquet of fresh flowers, take the two minutes necessary to prepare your vase. The small amount of time is definitely worth it.
