A Paralyzed Dog Is Found Wandering Around Thailand, What Happens Next Breaks My Heart

It’s a shame that humans don’t seem to live with the same resolve as Leo the dog. Leo was recently found on a beach in Thailand by a Ms. Meagan Peaman.

The story is just getting started. Leo was paralyzed in his hind quarters and moved by dragging his back-end. As heartbreaking a sight as the was for Peaman, she noted the dog’s wonderful disposition and decided she owed it to the dog’s spirit to get him some help.

The first step was to get little Leo to a veterinarian to have his injuries diagnosed. Turns out Leo had a broken back and subsequent infected wounds from dragging his body. Peaman reached out on the website GoFundMe and was able to raise the funds to have the dog nursed back to health.

After months of treatment, Leo was released, but had nowhere to go. Peason, sensing her duties were not finished, went to Facebook to find Leo a new home. She decided not to leave the dog in Thailand and instead flew the dog back to Canada with her.

Once home in Canada, Peaman was very pleased to learn that The Pet Mobility Rehab Center had decided to donate a wheelchair specifically designed for pets. With his new-found mobility and a list of inquiries from folks willing to give Leo a home, this story has a happy ending.

Leo was given a home by Jamie Marilyn Smith. The real winner in this story is Smith who received a dog with a great spirit and an amazing ability to survive the worse of circumstances. Here’s to Leo.
