3-Yrs-After Losing Her Wedding Ring, Elderly Farmer Plucks Strange Looking Carrot From His Garden.

An 82-year-old German man had just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife when he realized his gold wedding ring was missing. The man, who lives in the little town of Bad Müenstereifel, looked everywhere he could think of, but no luck.

His wife consoled him, saying the ring would turn up pretty soon. But it continued to elude every search. Then, two and a half years later, the love of his life passed away, and the man longed for the lost ring even more. He didn’t know then that fate had a happy surprise in store for him.

That fall, he was in the garden harvesting carrots when he found a very strange-looking one. It seemed like there was something jammed in the carrot and almost cutting it in two. A closer look revealed that it was metal with garden dirt stuck on it. A little rubbing produced the missing wedding ring, and the delighted man pulled it from its carroty hiding place.

It appears that just after his 50th anniversary, the man was gardening and the ring slipped off his finger into the dirt. Over the months, the ring was washed down into the ground by rains. Then, when he planted the carrots, that particular carrot grew around the buried ring. The garden carrot and gold carats came up together.

The man no doubt wished his wife were there to see the return of the ring. But I think she knew.
