3 Decades Later And The Golden Girls Continue to Surprise Us! Here’s Why…

The women from “The Golden Girls” continue to bring joy and excitement into the homes American viewers even 30 years after the show has ended. It aired on NBC in 1989, and reruns still play on a few television stations. The only remaining cast member alive is Betty White. Making people laugh on television shows and on stage.

There’s a lot about the show that you may not have known about. For instance, Estelle Getty had stage fright. Also, although cheesecake was a staple on the table of the home, Bea Arthur didn’t like the food. Despite this over 100 cheesecakes were consumed during the show’s run on television. Betty White was supposed to be Blanche.

The show only ended because Bea didn’t want to play the part of Dorothy any longer. Although Estelle Getty played the oldest woman of the home, she was a little over a year younger than her daughter on the show, Bea.

Estelle had to sit for a few hours in order to get herself to look her age on the set. Every one of these special women made the show fantastic for their own unique reasons. The Golden Girls just keep on going!
